Miguel can make anything sound sexy. Even “Bennie and the Jets.”

The “Adorn” singer recorded a new version of Elton John‘s 1973 song, choosing to stay true to the original arrangement while adding a few modern flourishes of his very own, including a buzzing synthesizer bass line, a few digital piano stutters and his own signature vocal styling.

The version also comes complete with a rap from Wale, who makes a wry reference to the original lyrics, rapping about how she’s “in a mohair suit signing autographs.” Miguel also shout outs this mohair suit, wondering, “Where do you get a mohair suit anyway?” Logical question, really.

Miguel’s cover is one of a series of high-profile re-dos and remixes from the 40th anniversary edition of Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, out March 25. As a bonus, the anniversary edition comes with a covers album that includes renditions of Elton’s hits by Ed Sheeran,  Hunter Hayes, the Band PerryJohn GrantEmeli SandeZac Brown Band  and Fall Out Boy, who yesterday released their high-energy take on “Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting.”
